The Different Types of Empaths

Contrary to what it may seem, empathy is quite complicated. It goes way beyond just sympathizing or feeling compassion for someone or about something. If you feel like you've always had the ability to truly put yourself in another person's shoes and feel what they're feeling like it's your own, you might be an empath. There are many different kinds of empathy

Did you know that there are 6 different types of empaths? Read on to discover which type of empath you may be:

1- The Emotional Empath
This type of empaths is the most common one. If you're an emotional empath, it's very easy for you to feel other people's emotions and their effect within your own body. Your emotional state changes in a second to mimic the other person's emotions and feelings, no matter what your emotional state was before encountering them.

2- The Physical Empath
Someone who is a physical empath will naturally pick up the energy of someone's body and feel what pains them. This type will manifest symptoms in their own body that aren't their own. Most physical empaths tend to work as healers. They tend to have health issues because of it, unless they are able to turn off that feeling at will which comes with awareness, meditation, and training.

3- The Plant Empath
Did you ever notice that you care deeply about plants and their needs? If so, you might as well be a plant empath. Most people who are this specific type of empaths tend to work around gardens, parks, and open spaces. This might be the reason why you enjoy decorating your home with real plants; it boosts your energy and happiness.

4- The Animal Empath
If you are an empath, you probably have a deep connection to our animal friends. An animal empath, on the other hand, is the type of person who will devote their life to helping out animals. These people can intuitively know what is wrong with an animal or what pain they are in and help accordingly. They easily understand an animal's needs.

5- The Geomantic Empath
Often reffered to as place or environmental empathy, this type of empathy makes you highly in tune with the environment or place you are in. The geomantic empath can feel uncomfortable in certain places with no apparant reason, yet quite happy and satisfied in others. They are drawn to the stories behind places and landscapes. They feel highly connected to sacred places and feel deep sadness when a landscape is demolished or trees cut down.

6- The Intuitive Empath
An intuitive empath or a claicognizant empath is a person who can easily receive information from someone simply by being around them. They only need one glance at someone and understand them. They can sense intentions and know when someone is lying to them.

No matter what type you are, a downside of being an empath is feeling drained from the emotions and overall energy you tend to absorb, which is why you should know How Empaths Can Avoid Compassion Fatigue.
